Upstream is a violin-piano duo project by Will Healy and George Meyer. It is a showcase for their co-compositions, which draw on a shared background in classical music, as well as a range of other styles. Will and George each live with a foot outside of classical music: George works regularly with bluegrass musicians, and Will with hip-hop and jazz artists.

They have performed together in many of New York City’s homes for new music, including (Le) Poisson Rouge, the DiMenna Center, National Sawdust, Roulette Intermedium, Shapeshifter Lab, the cell, and Carnegie Hill concert series.

Their co-compositional approach was present from their earliest collaborations and improvisations together, going back to their time together as students at The Juilliard School. They formalized their duo in 2022, with invitations to premiere newly-composed music at the Tribeca New Music Festival in NYC and at Midsummer's Music in Door County, Wisconsin.
